Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to ensure our victory in the June 26th Special Election. I am truly touched by the outpouring of support I have received from residents and community leaders in the 37th Congressional District. I am forever indebted to the hundreds of people who gave of themselves and their precious free-time for our community and our campaign. This opportunity has been particularly meaningful but also bittersweet for me, as the vacancy was created by the untimely death of my mentor Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald. In my time working for the late Congresswoman I saw the passion and dedication she brought to serving the constituents of this district. I feel honored and blessed to be the Democratic nominee for California’s 37th Congressional District, and plan to do my best to build upon Congresswoman McDonald’s legacy of service.
While the June 26th primary election was a great victory, this campaign is not over. We do not want to take anything for granted, and I plan to keep campaigning for this seat through the August 21st general election.
